Cary Lifestyle Magazine has just dropped their May Women’s issue and you may see someone you know on the cover! ?
Inside the Women’s Issue, there is an article that features nine unique trailblazing women. The women share their thoughts on everything from what excites them to how they define success.
Each of the women was asked a series of questions including:
- What does being a successful, trailblazing woman mean to you?
- What woman/women influenced you the most and how?
- What excites you most about your work?
- What are you most excited about for the future?
Congrats to all of the fabulous women in business, especially our fearless leader, Jennie Kowaleski (she’s the one in the gorgeous Azura blue dress).
The photos were taken by the talented Hans Rosemond.
What Did Jennie Have to Say?
What does being a successful, trailblazing woman mean to you?
“To me, that would pertain to any woman who has a vision of positive change, what is possible with that change, who then takes a leap of faith to put that positive change into motion, implement that change and then that change has a continual, positive ripple effect to others. To me, trailblazing is about pushing boundaries and asking others to step out of their comfort zone. Being successful with this comes with the understanding that the change you are making will set a standard for those who come after you and must accept responsibility for those outcomes. Being successful and trailblazing is no small feat.”
What excites you most about your work?
“Two biggies! 1. Witnessing the confidence level of my patients increase with small, soft enhancements through aesthetic procedures. When a woman tells me she can leave the house without makeup and she feels completely confident, I know we have done our job well. 2. Watching my team continue to achieve higher levels of care for our patients and know they are doing it because they have an immense passion for what they do. I get excited when my co-workers come up with new ideas on how we can be better and then takes the lead to make it happen.”
What excites you most about working in Cary?
“Cary is great for work and play! There are so many great businesses in our town, small and large. The networking abilities are endless and so many people are more than willing to help out other local businesses. We also have a growing population which continues to be diverse and open-minded which is very attractive. As far as play, there is never a lack of community planned events and fantastic dining options.”
What woman/women influenced you the most and how?
“Present day – Andrea Stevenson Conner, current ATHENA International President. She is a constant, fierce advocate for gender balance in leadership and in the workforce. She has a mission to help women reach their education, leadership and business goals.”
“In our past – Margaret Fuller. She was a remarkable woman with determination and a passion for furthering women’s’ rights. She was extremely intelligent and our history tells us she has just enough spunk and know-how to turn heads and help make change for women in all aspects of equal rights.”
