What Are Cherry Angiomas?
Cherry angiomas are common hereditary skin growths that can develop on most areas of your body. They are a collection of small blood vessels that typically occur in those aged 30 and older. Some cherry angiomas appear smooth and even with your skin, while others appear slightly raised. They most often grow on the face, chest, back, arms, and legs.
Why Get Rid of Cherry Angiomas?
While cherry angiomas are benign, some people opt to get them removed out of a personal preference for how they look. They can also bleed if scratched or rubbed too hard, which may cause scarring—and even infection. If they’re bleeding, treat the area of the skin by cleaning it, applying antibacterial ointment, and covering it with a bandage. Whatever you do, don’t try to remove them at home! Leave that to the professionals (aka us!).
Get Cherry Angioma-Free
While, again, cherry angiomas are not harmful to your skin or health, some people just don’t like the look of them on their bodies. It can take anywhere from one to two sessions for us to fully remove them with our YAG laser. However, be warned that you will likely develop new ones over the years—but we can remove those as well!
