The Halo™ device is the world’s first Hybrid Fractional laser which delivers ablative and non-ablative wavelengths at the same time for laser resurfacing. Wait… what?
Ok- Let’s go over some vocab. Ablative lasers “ablate” or break up layers of the skin. There are fully ablative lasers, like a CO2 or a MicroLaserPeel, which means that the entire skin’s surface is treated and the treatment can be dialed up or down to control the depth of the treatment. A very superficial form of this is like the NanoLaserPeel™ that we do here in the office.

There are also fractionated ablative lasers, for example, Halo™ or Fraxel, which break up the laser energy into thousands of tiny beams to treat only a percentage or fraction of the skin and some surrounding tissues are left intact. This promotes a faster healing process while still delivering amazing results.
Non-Ablative lasers do not disrupt or break up the outer layers of skin but pass the energy and heat through the skin to promote the desired results.
